Molly Anne Sweeney

Molly Anne Sweeney is a writer from London. She is one half of the climate focused theatre company Wise Ram Theatre. Her “heart-warming, comical, and intimate” debut play Decommissioned premiered at the Pleasance in 2023 following work-in-progress performances at VAULT Festival, Theatre Deli, The Old Fire Station and the MAST Mayflower Studios in Southampton. She is currently working on Sundream, a new piece of theatre funded by Essex County Council and co-created with the community in Jaywick, near Clacton exploring extreme heat. A play in development Help Me Learn had scratch performances at the Pleasance and a work-in-progress performance was programmed at A Pinch of VAULT festival. It was longlisted for Bold Theatre’s Playwrights scheme, for the Verity Bargate prize and the Papatango Prize. She has written for Theatre 503’s audio soap opera ‘The Wandsworth Way’. She has an MA in writing for stage and screen from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and have participated in the Criterion Theatre writing workshops run by Greg Mosse. She has facilitated creative workshops for diverse groups, from age 3 to university level.
